About KYK Foundation

This organization is founded on the philosophy of contributing to the betterment of society and the world as a whole. Inspired by the profound Bharatiyathought of “VasudhaivaKutumbakam”, meaning “The World is One Family,”.

The foundation is named KarmYogaKshemam“कर्मयोगक्षेमं“, translating to “Action for Wellbeing” in Sanskrit. This name encapsulates the fundamental idea driving the organization.

KYK, through its lead program Art warriors, aims to address environmental concerns and instigate positive change. With a mission of planting 1 billion trees in 1 decade, the organization seeks to create new green spaces and establish forests in both rural and urban areas, employing the Miyawaki technique with traditional plant species. The foundation also advocates and promotes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

KYK is committed to guiding the youth, drawing inspiration from Gandhian philosophy, which is intrinsic to Bharat’s core. The organization aspires to impart the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi to the younger generation, emphasizing the importance of realizing “Gandhi’s India@2047.”
In essence, KYK envisions a holistic approach to societal well-being, combining the wisdom of ancient Bharatiya philosophy with modern solutions for a sustainable and harmonious future.

Team Member

Dharmendar

Dharmendar, an advocate practicing in the Supreme Court of India, boasts over 15 years of extensive experience in Advocacy, Strategic Management, and Crisis Management across diverse sectors and ministries. Commencing his career as a Project Scientist at the Remote Sensing Application Centre (RSAC) in UP, he transitioned into the corporate realm with Schoolnet (formerly IL&FS Cluster), contributing to government advisory initiatives like Integrated Cold Chain Projects (ICCP) and Mega Food Parks. Successfully steering the implementation of the UNDP Swayam project in eastern UP, Dharmendar later ventured into government roles, initially as a Consultant in the Ministry of Women and Child Development and subsequently as a Senior Consultant (Private Secretary) to the President at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in the Ministry of External Affairs.

His educational journey encompasses a graduation degree from Punjabi University, Patiala, a master's degree from Rajasthan University, a postgraduate diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Faridabad, and studies in Rural Development Management at the National Institute of Rural Management (NIRD), Hyderabad. Dharmendar furthered his academic pursuits by earning an LLB from Delhi University.

Driven by a passion for positive change and sustainability, Dharmendar actively advocates for sustainable practices, epitomizing his commitment to contributing to this cause. His multifaceted career reflects not only his dedication to legal advocacy but also his deep-rooted commitment to the development of the downtrodden. In line with this vision, he envisions the KYK Foundation as an instrument for bringing about quality change, aiding fellow citizens, and bridging societal gaps.

Swati

Swati is a multifaceted individual with a strong commitment to promoting wellness, sustainability, and addressing the climate crisis. Her primary role and source of pride is being a mother, and this has significantly influenced her dedication to creating a healthier life for people and a safer planet for future generations. To actualize her vision, Swati founded the KarmYogaKeshemam (KYK) Foundation, focusing on promoting wellness through yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda. Her keen interest in sustainability led her to work towards averting the climate crisis, with a specific emphasis on afforestation.

Her academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University, an MBA from Sikkim Manipal University, and a graduate Diploma from the National Institute of Personal Management (NIPM) in Kolkata. Despite her successful corporate stints, Swati felt a calling towards the field of yoga. Eager to delve into its intricacies, she completed a one-month residential YIC course in yoga from SVYAS, Bengaluru. Driven by her passion, she transitioned from the corporate world to pursue her love for yoga more intensely.

Currently, in pursuit of her third master's degree, Swati is studying for an MSc in Yoga from SVYASA, showcasing her dedication to gaining profound insights into the subject. Her commitment to the global community is evident through her online yoga classes, extending the benefits of yoga to individuals in Germany and Switzerland.

Swati's journey seamlessly weaves together her roles as a mother, corporate professional, and yoga enthusiast, culminating in the foundation of KYK. This organization reflects her deep-rooted commitment to holistic wellness, sustainability, and creating a positive impact on both individuals and the planet.
